THE EQUESTRIAN 2008 ✦ digital photos, CG, Wacom ✦ illustrated-photography (digital)    This is the first of my post-apocalyptic series... I photographed my then-coworker Joanna and her horse Frankie at a ranch in Petaluma. The background is comprised of photos I've shot in various other places - Los Angeles, Detroit, San Francisco, and Chicago. To my great dismay, this is one of the pieces that I lost the original full-size files for when a hard drive died in late 2008. This small pic is how it originally looked. I managed to salvage/redraw a big version a bit from scanned-in prints, but it doesn't look quite as rich as the original. Double-back-up your files, kids! (I certainly learned my lesson, although it took one more crash in 2014 to really cement it.)
